In 1974 the West Side Marauders were founded by Eli Dumphey. The gang originally consisted of 5 members of the 42nd Airborne Division (hence the flying goggles and cap, wings, everything) which fought during the Vietnam War. After the war, the gangs popularity grew rapidly, growing in numbers to nearly 4,000 in 1977. This day, the gang consists of upwards of 23,000 worldwide.
